Heroes Season 3: A Terrible Season, One We Don't Deserve

-SPOILER ALERTS-
Heroes season three... somebody needs to be firedHaving watched near 5 full episodes (I stopped watching a couple of episodes ago) of the new season of heroes, I can officially declare my temporary resignation. At first I thought perhaps I was just burnt out on Heroes in general for I couldn't even conclusively convince myself logically whether or not season 3 was even all that bad. Therefore, I questioned a few people that I know who are avid fans and have been so since season 1, and the general consensus seems to follow with the thought that this new season just isn't very good or at all captivating. I did manage to find a couple particular plot points I did not like, however neither of them are main causation's for a humdrum third season.

Mohinder Surresh has been either my favorite character or a close second since the very beginning, but he has now dropped all the way to the bottom (and that's even below Nikki, or Jessica, or whoever she is this season). I've always found him to be by far the most moralistic and consistent character within their highly chaotic plots. Every show needs at least a few control characters in order to keep their story lines grounded and uncluttered, so I think them trying to turn Mohinder into a villain is an absolute faux-pas. I only pray they bring back the Mohinder Surresh we all know and love.

It really does me pain me to have to stand against Heroes. I did try to force myself to like season 3, I felt I was cheating myself though. However, I feel no remorse in bashing the ever-loving crap out of Peter Petrelli's father. The very fact that Peter's father is alive is an absolute disgrace to season 1, which was pure poetry. How can I watch the first season now and not think "Oh yeah, he's not actually dead." What a stupid and ridiculous idea. Make a new character for Pete's sake. I personally feel they are just getting so lazy that they are trying to squeeze in a new character that they think we already feel attached to. Well...we don't. We do not feel attachment for someone who was supposed to have died two seasons, whom we have never met. Also, we are supposed to believe Sylar and Peter are brothers. Maybe they are, but i feel the Writers of Heroes have seriously run out of ideas of ways to keep the characters relevant to each other. Still, none of these are directly to blame for me not continuing my ritualistic weekly viewing of Heroes, but I will not let these points be overlooked. Don't worry about me. I will watch season 3 in it's entirety when it is all said and done. For now I must find other ways to fill my Monday nights.
