The following 5 artists or bands might make great music but, ultimately, produce terrible music videos or at least videos that I never want to see again. They may have no taste, bad direction, horrible sets, terrible concepts, or maybe they just frequent the TV waves a little too much for personal comfort. Once again, in order for an artist to make a music video on TV usually indicates how good a band is with a few exceptions like "Who Let the Dogs Out?" So, we're not saying we never want to hear these artists again... but we sure as hell never want to see these artists again. The only stipulations that regard this list are that the artist had to make videos fairly recently and must currently be in the public's eye.

5.) Miley Cyrus
I hate to do it to you Miley, but your bad videos have to go. Although she is still very new to the music video scene, her videos are so terrible that we can't risk her popping out a new one. Miley Cyrus' videos range from corny moments of sentimental crap all the way to Kids Bop commercials. Her newest video, "Fly on the Wall", is the final straw and is one of the worst videos of 2008. We would have suggested giving Miley Cyrus another try if it wasn't for the collaboration of bad concepts and horrible direction for "Fly on the Wall."
4.) Hawthorne Heights
Hawthorne Heights have been around for a few years now, which seems like a enough time to straighten out their act... literally. The lead singer of this band has to be the worst actor ever in a music video. His stoic faces do nothing to drive the pretentious emo music they create. That is not the only folly this band suffers from. Since their humble beginnings with "Ohio is for Lovers" they have never had a good idea or set. Most of the time, you don't even know what the director's concept for the music video is. "Niki FM" shows this in spades; the video banters on with concepts that are conflicting and sometimes nonsensical. They're a band that represents a little shown genre on TV and they fall flat on their face. This earns them a spot on our countdown.
3.) Coheed and Cambria
Not everybody will know of this band, but once you see their videos it will be burned into your brain permanently. Coheed and Cambria is a progressive rock band that writes music based on a science fiction novel the lead singer thought of (not unlike the band Rush). You would think that Coheed and Cambria's music videos would be amazing, highlighting some of the key points in their science fiction story... wrong. Their videos are usually joke videos that are so awful that you could mistake it for an amateur YouTube.com creation. Going all the way back to the beginning, around 2003 or 2004, they wrote a superb rock/punk song called "Favor House Atlantic." They attached this song to a very bad joke video. From then on, every video that came since is just as terrible. Until, finally, their newest creation "Feathers," making it obvious that nobody should ever let them make a video again.

2.) 88 Keys
So far, I have only seen one full length music video from 88 Keys; "Stay Up (Viagra)". Having said that, once you watch this video you will never want to see another from 88 Keys. The video and song depict two old men, one of which is played by Kanye West, going out with two young ladies. Here's the kicker: the song is actually all about Viagra... poignant stuff.
1.) Lil Wayne
How could I put the most popular artist on MTV at number 1? To put it simply; Lil Wayne represents everything wrong with the current status of music videos. Lil Wayne writes catchy music that should be accompanied by a fun to watch video. Instead, you get a montage of appalling and distasteful scenes objectifying women and abusing/overusing silver teeth. In most of his videos there is no attempt at movement or storyboards. The only reason why these videos are shown so often is because he is the most popular artist, therefore, people will watch his them. On top of that, Lil Wayne releases a couple videos everyday (make sure you read that with the sarcasm font applied). This surplus of Lil Wayne videos can make any sane person plead to cease all video creation. You can release a new video when you get a director that has an actual idea, instead of just finding reasons to get free make out sessions.
There you have it. Frankly; it wasn't pretty. These are the artists we never want to witness a video from again. Maybe in the future they will look to new ways to ensure a better video. But until then, our list remains solid.
