5 Best TV Show Intros

Leave it to us to make another list that is completely useless and trivial. Anyway, this is our list of the 5 best intros to our favorite TV shows. The only stipulation is that the music has to be licensed. Enjoy.

5). Friends

This is easily the first intro song that comes to mind. Because of that, we had to put it on the countdown. This song is, also, easily the worst licensed song to make it to a TV show intro and one of the worst songs we've ever heard. We had to put it on the list due to the fact that it is so recognizable and makes anyone cringe when they hear it. The song is called "I'll Be There For You" and it's by the Rembrandts. The song is know for sounding like it's recorded in a garage and has a very pitchy vocal melody. The song is such a hit because the show was very successful, it's surprising that the show wasn't canceled after hearing the song on the first pilot episode.

4). The Adventures of Pete and Pete

Pete and Pete is a call from left field, but still a great intro song non the less. A lot of you will probably not even remember the song but it scores instant nostalgia points upon listening. The band is Polaris and the song is called "Hey Sandy." They appear singing and playing the song in the intro video of every episode. The style of music was very iconic to the 90's but the show itself stood out as one of the weirdest and most random shows on Nickelodeon.

3). Drew Carey

The Ian Hunter song, "Cleveland Rocks", was rejuvenated for the second half of the Drew Carey series. This brought a whole dance sequence to the Cleveland anthem that was both entertaining and funny. It was a great rock introduction to a show about a fat, glasses wearing geek that worked in a office.

2). Fresh Prince of Bell-Air

This isn't exactly licensed music but Will Smith is a rapper and he did do the song. Anyway, I couldn't bare to leave it out of the countdown. The Bell-Air intro is one of the funniest and visually hilarious intros. I still find myself quoting lyrics to this day. The song did just what the name said, it was very fresh for the time to have a rap intro.

1). The Wonder Years

The song was called "With a Little Help From My Friends." Originally written by the Beatles the song found it's way to Joe Cocker and then to the intro of The Wonder Years. It set the mood for the entire series which lasted for quite a few years. The song was a very touching sentiment that showed family values in the brief minute it was shown. After The Wonder Years; hearing the song would instantly remind you of this teenage classic.
