It could be old news to someone that gets on YouTube more than they eat breakfast in the morning, but a fair amount of videos have been taken down from YouTube.com. This usually doesn't concern our site but due to the video's relevancy to our site's topic, it makes for a note worthy subject. Since the end of December of 08, music videos have been taken down by the orders of WMG, or Warner Music. On top of that, any content that shows images or music from or under the copyright of WMG or a subsidiary company of WMG will be taken down. This means that you can't show your kid taking his first poop in his diaper with the sweet sounds of Metallica in the background on YouTube. WMG does not find YouTube as a viable resource to earn money from their music. This dispute also involves Google's revenue, which Google could probably care less about since they just bought a nice chunk of Heaven overlooking the ocean.

Coming back full circle to why this affects eMVees.com: we use YouTube.com as our source of embedding videos. A lot of our video reviews show WMG video from their music videos. So, as it currently stands, we cannot show any images from said music videos. Until WMG makes more money from YouTube, or the dispute gets solved we have to find a different means of presenting the video media. Or (not anytime soon) get our own video player.
