Ashley Simpson's music video "Outta My Head" makes no apologies for how visually corny it is or how it obviously takes most of it's ideas from 1980's paragons. The color schemes are lackluster, especially compared to other videos that pull off these visuals much better like the music video for Gwen Stefani's "What are you waiting for." The costumes are bad, and the choreography is horrendous. With that being said, it still manages to keep you entertained. Although this video was very pop oriented and the theme of the music matched the video, it still could have used more insightful scenes depicting Ashley Simpson mannerism when belting out higher notes. The scene where she is singing into a microphone while holding headphones is actually quite good. It's a shame that most of the shots were wasted on bad robot moves and giant 80's symbolism. Ashlee's video isn't bad because it still holds what a lot of videos fail to reach, and that's our attention. Definitely worth a watch.
