Coldplay has never had a shortage of good ideas for music videos. "Strawberry Swing" is no different, showing off charm and a great visual concept. It is hard not to marvel at the work that went into this video. The detail in the chalk drawings are intricate, or at least as intricate chalk drawings can get. The still frame animation must of taken hours upon hours, but I'm sure that only a small number of people will realize this. The song drones without much change in the parts but what drives the song forward is the absurd story. Making the antagonist of the whole story a squirrel is funny and quirky. The formula won't win over everybody, some might not find the humor in the drawings. Also, some parts during the middle are a bit incoherent, but this is a small complaint. "Strawberry Swing" shows to be a surprisingly strong entry overall. I do think that the song was a bit too bland to be a single and they should of used a song with more movement to better suit the progressive nature of the video.
