Eminem continues his formula that he has been following for years. First he releases a video solely based around humor and satire of current issues of popculture. Then he releases a video that tries to push the envelope in controversy. And finally eminem finishes it off with a emotional glance at his life. I will say that out of all three (We Made You, 3 AM, and Beautiful), Beautiful is easily the best song. But it falls a tad bit short when it comes to the video. The video concept is pretty generic with Em walking around a distraught Detroit. The sets are good showcased by some pretty great lighting. You probably won't find yourself turning off the video early since the song is that good. Though, the only thing keeping my attention is the lyrics and not the visuals.
The video feels very "8 Mile," which isn't surprising taking in account Eminems past. It still seems that it has all been done before and the lack of story elements doesn't help.
It isn't a bad video by any means, it just needs a little more. Eminem does a great job emotionally pounding his lyrics to the viewers with his mannerisms and body language. The video is a good addition to Eminem's library even if it lacks a bit of effort.
