Lil Wayne tries to take one step out of the box of rap and one step closer to the general rock genre. This step is also present in his music video, showcasing Lil Wayne holding a guitar and rocking out on stage. Not only that, but the general concept of being an outcast in high school resembles something pretty rock and roll. To most people though, this video will be laughable. The majority are going to realize that Lil Wayne doesn't know how to play the guitar and can't sing worth a damn. The "Prom Queen" video also reflects the quarrels between the rock and rap genres. The music video's idea is classic, but it doesn't really make you feel for the story. It will probably make you laugh just to see Lil Wayne in high school. Overall, though, it's not a bad effort by any means. There are some well executed camera changes and a story arc that mostly makes sense. It deserves to be watched... just maybe not for the right reasons.
