My Chemical Romance usually comes equipped with the unique concepts and a phenomenal visual presence, and "I'm Not Okay" is easily one of the best examples of this. They perfectly shift the balance of what it is for a music video to be tasteful yet still be entertaining. The music video takes place at, what looks to be, a private school. It gives contemporary comedy to subjects like fitting in and social buoyancy. In between several frames you can read short phrases that keep the video in check, and keeps you from losing interest. You can tell the video is a bit rough sometimes with parts seeming like a high school independent film. Still, few videos do the art better. "I'm Not Okay" has it's place in the triple threat of My Chemical Romance videos, and complements the other two videos ("Helena" and "Ghost of You") very well.
