Ting Tings That's Not My Name Music Video Review

Ting Tings Thats not my name
Marching bands? Black lights? And jog dancing? Are these ingredients that spell success? Not so much. We've seen the Ting Tings attempt weird ideas in previous videos like "Shut up and Let Me Go", which worked out pretty well. The implementation of their newest concepts in "That's Not My Name" fall far short of these standards and come across as sloppy. Upon first impressions, the video's lighting and set is incredible, but this only acts as the wrapping on the package. The camera's movement are pretty basic but it still does a fine, if not overly choppy, job.

As soon as the music starts you see all the glaring flaws. The majority of the video is a marching band in rave clothes spinning signs and drumming on snares and timpani. It truly just makes one scratch their head at this badly blended concept. The video also utilizes some primitive video effects such as speeding up and reversing the film which just appears as archaic in this day and age. There's not too much else to be said about the video. However, you might want to check out the original cut of "That's Not My Name" on Youtube.com. It's pretty bad but still worth a watch if you're a fan of the band.
